A
Self Catering Holiday Cottage located on the Isle of Mull.
The comfortable cozy sitting room is tastefully decorated.
The cottage enjoys an open coal fire.
Coal can be ordered in advance for the open fire and will be available on your arrival (small bags can be purchased locally at the shops).
Rowan cottage has been in the family for 4 generations, in 1998 a major refurbishment plan was undertaken, to upgrade the cottage to its present STB 3 Star Grading classification.
During the summer months you will find this area an abundance of colour with pots and troughs of flowers.
Rowan cottage sleeps 4 people in 1 double bedroom and 1 twin bedroom.
The Kitchen offers a bright clean pleasant working area.

(eggs, milk, bread etc).

Rowan cottage provides duvets and pillows.
The Accommodation consists of two bedrooms, dining kitchen, sitting room and shower room.
Bedrooms
Both bedrooms are on the upstairs floor and access is gained from a winding type stair. One bedroom contains one double bed, bedside cabinet with lamp, double wardrobe and dressing table. In the other bedroom you will find 2 single beds, bedside cabinet and lamp, dressing table and double wardrobe. A hairdryer is to be found in one of the drawers in the dressing table. Mattress protectors, duvets and pillows are supplied for each bed.
Kitchen
The kitchen is fully fitted and contains oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine, kettle, toaster, coffee maker and is extremely well equipped with crockery and utensils. You will also find cleaning materials under the sink. The electric immerser switch is located on the rear wall beside the window. The table is a gate leg type with folding chairs and are kept under the table.
Sitting Room
The sitting room contains a two/three seater sofa, two fireside chairs, colour television, CD Micro System, and has an open fire. The fireguard should be used at all times. Timber should not be used as the fire does not facilitate burning logs. The central heating and or hot water system operates from the open fire and by following the instruction in the cottage you can obtain heating for the radiators and water or only heat the water if desired.
Shower Room
The shower room contains an electric 8.5kw 'Mira' shower and folding door to cubicle, wash hand basin, WC, electric wall mounted pull cord convector heater and ceiling extractor fan. Please use the fan while using the shower.

Due to the winding stair which passes over the shower room the door height and width is slightly restricted and is 68” x 25” as opposed to 78” x 30” standard doors. The internal height of the shower room is not effected. (See separate floor plan)

You will find cleaning implements within the cupboard under the stair. An ironing board and iron are also available.

There are central heating radiators in each of the bedrooms and in the hall, landing and kitchen. Electric convectors are also available for use in these rooms. Normally 1 large bag of house coal would be sufficient to heat the radiators and hot water for a week.

Smoke alarms are fitted in hall and landing. A fire blanket is located within the kitchen.

Electricity is paid by a pre-paid meter which accepts £1 coins. A torch can be found hanging below the meter.Bed linen and towels are not provided in the price. Should you require them they will be charged at an additional cost per bed and per set of towels.
